Studio and 1-bedroom packages: 20–30 crates and a dolly, from $249 for 2 weeks.

We're planning a straightforward door-to-door service for people who'd rather get on with moving than chase down old cardboard boxes.

A few things worth knowing before you make your move.
Where will Crate Mate deliver?
Wānaka, Hāwea, Cromwell, Queenstown, Arrowtown and Alexandra. Delivery and collection are free in Wānaka and Hāwea; a small delivery fee applies further afield and is shown before you book.
How much notice do you need?
Packages of up to 40 crates can be booked as little as 2 days before delivery, subject to availability. Orders of 55 crates or more need at least 4 days' notice so we can get enough stock cleaned and ready.
Do I need to clean the crates?
Just give them a quick wipe-out and make sure they're empty. We take care of the proper clean between hires so every crate arrives ready to pack.
How long can I hire crates for?
Standard hire is 2 weeks, or choose 4 weeks when you book. Need longer? Tick "I need a custom time frame" on the booking form and extra weeks are added at the package's weekly extension rate.
Can I get more crates if I need them?
Yes. Add bundles of 10 extra crates or an extra dolly when you book. If you're already mid-move, get in touch and we'll sort a top-up delivery if stock allows.
What if a crate is lost or damaged?
Normal wear is fine. A lost or badly damaged crate is charged at $50 + GST and a dolly at $150 + GST. Crates returned very dirty may incur a $5 per-crate cleaning fee, and if nobody is home at the agreed collection time a $50 + GST re-collection fee applies.
